STAYCATIONS became an instant hit after lockdown forced the temporary demise of of international holidays.
More and more Scots took to finding idyllic spots across the country to spend their summer break.
Two more bespoke cabins have been added to the long list of bespoke locations to spend the summer in Scotland.
Gordon Campbell and his partner Michael Connors decided to move out of Glasgow during lockdown and found themselves in the village of Milton of Buchanan.
He said the pair decided they wanted a summer project and “The Mars Huts were conceived.
“This is our first project and we live in the cottage beside them so thought because of the idyllic location, close to the famous Conic Hill and the beautiful village of Balmaha.”

“We spent a lot but it was worth it to get it right!”
The two huts were built by the couples neighbour and were then placed into the garden by crane.
The two Mar Huts, the Conic and the Lomond are two ‘bespoke hand-crafted Shepherds huts onlooking the River Mar.’
Gordon told the Scottish Sun: “We’re only ten minutes from the Devil’s Pulpit where Highlander was filmed and love living here so we thought we’d share this beautiful spot with guests who want to get away from it all.”
The village is located between Drymen and Balmaha on the West Highland Way making access to both villages easily accessible.
Situated beside Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the huts are also a short drive from the city of Stirling and its surroundings.
The couple are revelling in the countryside and think the location is the perfect spot for any type of get away.
Gordon said: “It’s a great spot for walkers doing the West Highland Way.
“We have chickens in the garden too which adds to the country vibe we’re trying to create- quite the change from Glasgow.
“We wanted to getaway luxury huts where guests can switch off, relax and explore the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park.
“The huts are located alongside the river Mar so it’s a really peaceful spot.”
The unique huts only began taking bookings on August 1 and have everything to make a relaxing staycation, including a hot tub, flat screen TV and SMEG kitchen equipment.
Gordon has said his little huts are nearly fully booked for August and September.
He said: “We opened this week and have been blown away by the response- people really love the huts!
“We’re now nearly fully booked for August and September which is great!”
There are also a number of activities situated nearby including Conic Hill and and the mysterious Devils Pulpit- made most famous for appearing in hit TV show Outlander and the hit film Highlander.

The huts are available to book via Airbnb- the Conic is available to book here and the Lomond can be booked here.
