We’re headed into the last month of 2021, and Ginny and Georgia season 2 won’t be making its premiere on Netflix in December.

The teen drama, which was renewed in April, is an anticipated release for subscribers that fell in love with Ginny, Georgia, and their Wellsbury found family in the first season.

The show’s sophomore season is set to focus on the fallout from Ginny finding out about her mother’s murderous past. The Netflix original ended season 1 on a cliffhanger with Ginny speeding away on a motorcycle with her brother Austin in tow.

While we don’t expect her to be missing in action in Wellsbury for long, we do know what she learned about Georgia is certain to change the two’s dynamic. They were on rocky footing as it was and this revelation has made things worse.

Unfortunately, the wait for the next part of the mother-daughter duo’s story is likely to be a long one. Here’s what we know about Ginny and Georgia season 2’s release date.

When is Ginny and Georgia season 2 coming to Netflix?

Filming on the show’s sophomore season began on Monday, Nov. 29. What’s on Netflix reports that production is set to run until Friday, April 8, 2022. Give the filming window, Ginny and Georgia won’t make a return to the platform early next year.

At the earliest, season 2 could premiere in late summer 2022, but it’s more likely fans won’t see the new season make its land until the fall. Typically, post-production on a series runs between six to eight months.
