Is Salman Khan taking a pay cut for Bigg Boss 16? Here’s what we know

Superstar Salman Khan is all set to host the new season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss 16. The Dabangg Khan has been hosting the controversial reality show for the past 12 seasons and each year he receives a hike in his remuneration. Rumours abounded that the superstar will be charging a whopping Rs 1000 crore to host the new season.

However, those reports have turned out to be false. Reportedly the superstar hasn’t hiked his fees but instead will take a pay cut this time for hosting.

As reported by sources to Midday, Bigg Boss OTT, the digital version of the reality show whose first season was streamed last year exclusively on Voot. It was hosted by none other than filmmaker Karan Johar. The OTT version will not be returning this year. The reason is that sponsors are not interested in the same. As the first season failed to generate the expected revenue. The report further states that Salman has reluctantly agreed to take a pay cut instead of hiking his fee for the next season. But there is no confirmation of the same as yet.

The makers of Bigg Boss 16 have unveiled a single promo and its BTS clip featuring Salman announcing two major twists. The first teaser said that even Bigg Boss will also play the game. In the BTS clip, Salman is heard stating in the background that there will be no rules this season.

Reportedly the show will start on October 1 on Colors TV replacing the ongoing season of Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 which ends on September 25. Munawar Faruqui, Faisal Shaikh, Kanika Mann, Giaa Manek, Harshad Chopda, Divyanka Tripathi, Ridhima Pandit, and Divya Agarwal are some of the names doing the rounds.

On the work front, Salman Khan has Tiger 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in his kitty.
