Earlier this year, the Mavericks were considered a contender in the Western Conference. Fast forward to late March, and Jason Kidd’s squad is in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.
On Friday night, the Mavericks lost at home to the Hornets. They’re now 3-7 in their last 10 games.
Kidd used some harsh words when describing the Mavericks’ effort against the Mavericks. He referred to it as “awful” and “dog s–t” before leaving his postgame press conference.
“The interest level wasn’t high,” Kidd said, via ESPN. “It was just disappointing.”

Kidd also commented on the home crowd booing the Mavericks during the second half.
“We probably should have been booed in the first quarter,” Kidd told reporters.
The Mavericks are currently in 11th place in the Western Conference standings. That leaves them right outside the play-in picture.
With just eight games left on the schedule, the Mavericks are running out of time to save their season.
