Metallica announces an intimate benefit show at Microsoft Theater – Daily News


Bay Area metal band Metallica announced that it will perform with special guests during an intimate show at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Dec. 16 to benefit its All Within My Hands Foundation.

For the first time ever, the band’s Helping Hands Concert & Auction will take place in Los Angeles and will raise funds for the nonprofit, which focuses on creating sustainable communities by addressing issues such as hunger and workforce education.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at There is a two-ticket limit per customer.

The Helping Hands Concert & Auction was livestreamed in 2020 and raised more than $1.8 million for the foundation, as well as partners including Feeding America, the American Association of Community Colleges and various COVID disaster relief efforts. The band established the foundation in 2017 and all benefit concert expenses are covered entirely by Metallica to ensure that all of the proceeds go directly to those in need.

To date, the foundation has donated more than $5.8 million to local charities and has worked with organizations around the world to feed more than 10 million people, according to a press release issued by the band. The foundation also includes the Metallica Scholars Initiative, which has pledged a total of $5.9 million in grants, benefiting 33 community colleges across the United States.
