ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Warm, humid air has returned to the region today after a short respite. This sets the stage for a possible severe weather outbreak this evening as a warm front from the west will work to interact with this increasingly unstable atmosphere. A line of thunderstorms is expected to develop to our northwest and roll toward our area. A big part of our local area, including Rochester, Winona, and Decorah, Iowa has been upgraded to level three risk in the Storm Prediction Center’s Daily outlook. Damaging winds that may exceed 70mph will be the greatest threat. However, hail, a couple of tornadoes, and heavy rainfall will also be possible. The storms will move out of the area to the south after midnight. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s.
High temps will be in the 80s. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in the late evening.(KTTC)
