Jeremy Strong will trade a life of luxury for ground zero in the new series based on the inspiring story of 9/11’s first responders. The Succession star, who will also be returning for a fourth instalment of the acclaimed HBO comedy-drama, will take on the leading role and executive produce the upcoming project.

Strong will be teaming with Tobias Lindholm, director of A War and writer of Borgen for the new TV project.

Lindholm previously struck a deal with the producing company of HBO’s critically lauded miniseries Chernobyl.

His upcoming series The Best of Us will be the first series to emerge from his new deal, and Deadline have recently announced the casting of Jeremy Strong.

The show’s supporting cast is yet to be confirmed, but the talent involved will undoubtedly attract some more big names.

“We look forward to their thoughtful and human depiction of those heroes that serve on the frontlines for the greater good.”

Strong continues his breakthrough performance as Kendall Roy in the third season of the HBO phenomenon Succession, alongside Brian Cox, Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen.

He is also expected to reprise the role for the recently confirmed fourth season, which will enter production soon.

Elsewhere, he is known for his supporting turn in Aaron Sorkin’s Oscar-nominated The Trial of the Chicago 7, and will next appear on the big screen in period drama Armageddon Time.
