TAMPA, FLA., October 6, 2023 – The University of South Florida women’s golf team, coming off top-five finishes in the first two events of the 2023-24 season, returns to the course at the Dale McNamara Invitational in Broken Arrow, Okla. The Bulls, who notched a win in the first event of the Fall, are led by head coach Erika Brennan in her sixth full season.
South Florida will compete in a strong 15-team field featuring nine teams ranked in the top 100 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings (Sept. 29). The Bulls are the highest-ranked team at No.27. Joining USF In the top 55 are Colorado State (40), host Tulsa (50), UTSA (51) and Nebraska (54). Other ranked teams in the field include Sam Houston (83), Kennesaw State (84), Oral Roberts (94) and Abilene Christian (100).
The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday, October 9, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (EST). The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday, October 10, with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (EST).
Leading the charge for the Bulls is returning senior Melanie Green (Medina, N.Y.), the AAC Women’s Golfer of the Month for September. Green finished tied for fourth and tied for second in the first two tournaments and has shot under par in four of six competitive rounds. She is joined by freshman Emma Falcher who posted her first top 10 as Bull with a tie for seventh at the Glass City Invitational, junior Leonor Medeiros who carded a hole-in-one and posted a career-best fifth-place finish at 214 (-2) at the Badger Invitational, senior Alizee Vidal who posted her third top-10 finish as a Bull in Wisconsin, and graduate transfer Alyssa Montgomery in her first season as a Bull.

About USF Women’s Golf
The 2023-24 campaign will be the Bulls’ sixth full season under head coach Erika Brennan. South Florida is among the fastest-rising programs in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan’s first season in 2018-19 and have captured four tournament titles under Brennan, while setting numerous program scoring records under her leadership. Senior standout Melanie Green has been an all-conference performer in each of her first three seasons, qualified for the 2022 NCAA Regional as an individual and was named a 2023 All-American Honorable Mention. Green and the Bulls reached the NCAA Regional as a team in 2023, marking the program’s first postseason appearance in 11 years.
