ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Several area retailers have issued a recall on eclipse glasses sold at their stores. The recalled glasses have an ISO number listed on them that do not meet safety standards, according to many of the businesses.
Stores that issued a recall include:
- Fink’s ALPS – Union, Missouri
- Midtowne Market – St. Charles, Missouri
- B+H Market – Pacific, Missouri
- Farm Fresh Market – Breese, Illinois
- Karsch’s Market (all locations)
- Highland Tru Buy – Highland, Illinois
- Mace Supermarket – Cuba, Missouri
- Perry County Market Place – Pinckneyville, Illinois
- Save A Lot – St. Clair, Missouri, Cedar Hill, Missouri, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and Pevely, Missouri
- Sinclair Foods – Jerseyville, Illinois
- Straub’s Market – All locations
- St. Clair Country Mart – St. Clair, Missouri
- Steeleville Marketplace – Steeleville, Missouri
- K + R Market – Marthasville, Missouri
All of the area stores posted messages about the recalls on their Facebook pages.
A Facebook post on Fink’s ALPS’ page included that the glasses were ISO 12312-1:2022. According to the American Optometric Association, eclipse glasses should have an ISO 12312-2 for safe viewing.
The stores listed are all offering full refunds.
