Julia Roberts reveals her choice of her own films she’d love to see get a part deux

Julia Roberts has been in some pretty epic and memorable films, but not all of them would necessarily make a good sequel. But there is one that came to mind when she was asked about it on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and it makes total sense.

There to promote her new film, Leave The World Behind, Roberts sat solo with Cohen for the full 30 minutes and covered plenty of topics. But it was a couple of questions in particular from viewers that could very well have kick-started her next big Hollywood project.

Cohen told her that a few questions came in a lot from his viewers including, “Which of your movies would you love to do a sequel for?”

The Oscar-winning Roberts pondered the question and even said that she had never been asked that before — kudos to WWHL viewers — and then came up with her answer.

“I think maybe My Best Friend’s Wedding,” Roberts said. “Because there are so many people in it and to see what they’re doing, and how Kimmy and Michael’s marriage is going.”

After hearing her answer Cohen dug up a follow-up question from another viewer asking who Roberts thinks Michael should have married in that movie, Jules — Roberts’ character — or Kimmy, played by Cameron Diaz.

“I mean, of course, Jules. But he married Kimmy,” she said.

My Best Friend’s Wedding, released in 1997, is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and is considered one of the best romantic comedies of all time, having earned Roberts Golden Globe and MTV Movie Award nominations for her performance. Joining her and Diaz in the cast were Dermot Mulroney and Rupert Everett.

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen airs Sunday through Thursday on Bravo.
