LG reveals 4K 32-inch OLED monitor with “Dual-Hz” feature: 1080p/480Hz and 4K/240Hz modes

LG UltraGear OLED monitor features two resolution modes that can be switched with a button

LG unveils their new OLED monitor lineup early.

The just unveiled UltraGear monitor, known as “32GS95UE,” marks the company’s fist design featuring the innovative “Dual-Hz” feature. As per the official announcement, this monitor provides support for two different resolutions and refresh rates: 4K resolution (3840×2160) at 240Hz and Full-HD (1920×1080) resolution at 480Hz. This monitor can switch between these modes easily.

The monitor has a special hotkey which allows gamers to apply a new optimal combination of resolution and refresh rate, depending on the title they are playing. LG recommends the 1080p 480Hz mode for fast-paced shooters and story-driven games to be played at 4K with 240Hz.

LG has opted for OLED technology for this unique monitor, boasting a 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time. The specifications indicate 98.5% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1. Notably, this 32-inch monitor strikes an optimal balance for a 4K display, given the pixel density.

Furthermore, the monitor has secured VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and is compatible with both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4.

In addition to the flagship monitor, LG is introducing five other models featuring OLED panels, supporting resolutions of up to 3440×1440 or 2560×1440, depending on the aspect ratio. Detailed specifications for these models are provided below.
