A missing Plymouth man who had dementia was found dead Saturday afternoon after a four-day search, according to Plymouth police.
The body of Rodney Riviello, 69, was discovered in Plymouth in an outdoors location, Plymouth police said in a Facebook post. He had been missing since Tuesday, June 17, around 11:15 a.m. when he left Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital’s Plymouth location.
Authorities conducted an extensive search for Riviello this past week while his family offered $5,000 for information that led to his safe return. He lived in Manomet — a seaside village of Plymouth.
“The members of the Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department offer their sincere condolences to Mr. Riviello’s family and loved ones,” the department wrote on Facebook.
It is unclear if Riviello’s death is considered suspicious. At first, authorities asked those with residences near the hospital to check their security and trail cameras or him. Later on, police said they thought he may have gotten into a Silver Nissan.
No further information about Riviello’s death has been released.
