Here come the Cornhuskers.

One of the most active programs down the stretch of the 2024 recruiting cycle, Nebraska secured another verbal commitment during National Signing Day on Wednesday afternoon.

This time it was from Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep defensive back Amare Sanders, who picked NU over local Miami, Louisville, Virginia and Duke during his school’s signing day ceremony.

Four-star defensive end Steve Mboumoua emerged as a high-end prospect during the summer after a series of impressive performances at college camps. From then on, the Montreal native pretty much had his pick of college destinations. On Wednesday, he chose Alabama.

Four-star defensive end Lugard Edokpayi’s recruitment started slowly but it ended with his commitment to Michigan. The former Temple commit out of Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara chose the Wolverines over Maryland, Rutgers, and Minnesota. Edokpayi was in Ann Arbor for an official visit last week.

UCLA added a quarterback to its 2024 class with a commitment from Henry Hasselbeck, the son of long time NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. The former Michigan State commit out of Westwood (Mass.) Xaverian Brothers took official visits to UCLA and Boston College this month but ultimately decided to sign with the Bruins.

Dan Lanning has pulled another big flip. In a signing day surprise, four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan flipped from Ohio State to Oregon. The St. Louis native committed to the Buckeyes back in August over Oregon and Missouri. Rivals recruiting analyst Greg Smith has more HERE.
