Photos and videos show a substantial amount of the building, located on Portage Road near Ramona Avenue, is severely damaged, including a caved-in roof and flooding.

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down near Decatur.
Those living in Van Buren County should take shelter.
City of Portage issues statement following severe storms, tornadoes
Officials from the City of Portage announced that two tornadoes touched down in the area Tuesday evening, causing severe property damage and the displacement of residents.
Damage to commercial and residential buildings, downed trees, multiple gas leaks, and power outages have been reported.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 9 p.m. Tuesday for the following counties:

We are beyond grateful that Nate Davis, our Assistant Manager, did the right thing and gathered everyone in the walk-in cooler which is the safest location in a restaurant building.”
