Team Notes
•TCU opened its season with a Friday night road game for the first time since 2022, when it won 38-13 at Colorado en route to a College Football Playoff National Championship appearance.
 
•The Horned Frogs outgained Stanford 457-to-281 in total offense.
 
•With Jack Bech (139) and JP Richardson (107), TCU had two 100-yard receivers in the same game for the first time since Derius Davis (139) and Quentin Johnston (114) against Oklahoma State in 2020.
 
•Under first-year Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos, the Horned Frogs totaled 10.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.
 
•TCU is 4-0 all-time against Stanford with each game taking place since 2007.
 
•TCU has a four-game winning streak against ACC opponents.
 
•The Horned Frogs are 5-5 all-time against the ACC.
 
•The Horned Frogs are 8-4 in road games under Head Coach Sonny Dykes.
 
•Stanford marked the first of 11 Power 4 Conference opponents for TCU this season.
 
•August 30 tied for the earliest start to a TCU football season in program history. The previous two occasions were in 2008 and 2014.
 
•TCU scored for the 395th consecutive game, the second-longest streak in NCAA history. No. 1 is Florida at 448 games (1988-present). The Horned Frogs haven’t been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991, at Texas (32-0).
 
•TCU wore a purple helmet, white jersey and purple pants.
 
Individual Notes
Offense
Josh Hoover completed his first eight pass attempts and finished 28-of-42 for 353 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Jack Bech had a career-best 139 yards receiving on six catches for his first 100-yard game. His previous career-high was 84 yards receiving while playing for LSU against Auburn in 2021.
 
•Bech’s six receptions were one shy of a personal-best seven in the 2021 contest versus Auburn.
 
JP Richardson had a career-best 107 yards on six receptions for the second 100-yard game of his career. His six catches were one shy of a career-high seven while playing for Oklahoma State against Texas in 2022.
 
•Richardson has at least one catch in 28 consecutive games, tied for the seventh-longest active streak in the nation.
 
Savion Williams tied a career-high with 11 receptions for 85 yards. He also had 11 versus Texas last season.
 
•Williams had a 5-yard touchdown catch on TCU’s opening series, his ninth career receiving score. It was part of five receptions on the drive.
 
Cam Cook scored the first rushing touchdown of his career on a 7-yard carry for TCU’s final points. He ran for a career-high 81 yards on 20 attempts.
 
•True freshman quarterback Hauss Hejny made his collegiate debut and had two rushing attempts for 7 yards.

Defense 

•Making his first career start, Jamel Johnson had a personal-best 11 tackles while also forcing a fumble.

 

Namdi Obiazor totaled 2.5 tackles for loss, including 1.5 sacks, as part of four stops.

 

Devean Deal also had 2.5 TFLs with a half sack in his TCU debut.

 

Marcel Brooks’ 1.5 sacks were his first at TCU and since recording 1.5 while playing as a true freshman on LSU’s 2019 national championship team.

 

Cooper McDonald took part in his first sack as a Horned Frog.

 

Tymon Mitchell had his first career interception off a deflection by Johnny Hodges and added a key fourth-down tackle to turn the ball over on downs.

 

NaNa Osafo-Mensah posted four quarterback hurries.

JaTravis Broughton recorded two pass breakups.

Special Teams

Kyle Lemmermann made 22- and 42-yard field goals on his first two collegiate attempts.
