Trail Blazers’ Jerami Grant Linked to Lakers

The Portlan Trail Blazers’ forward Jerami Grant could be a potential target for the Los Angeles Lakers in a trade according to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer.

Jerami Grant, a client of Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, is believed to be another potential addition on the Lakers’ wishlist, according to league sources.

The Lakers have made well-documented attempts at improving their roster at February’s trade deadline, but were unable to make a major splash for a star during the season.

Grant shares an agent, Klutch Sports’ Rich Paul, with James and Davis. Paul has represented a number of players that have made their way to the Lakers, including Taurean Prince and Jarred Vanderbilt who are currently on the team.

With the NBA Draft quickly approaching, the Lakers hold the 17th pick which could be used in a trade if they decide to move it. If they decide to use the pick, there have been a number of big men linked to the Lakers through non-trade scenarios according to Fischer.

There have since been several centers linked to the Lakers at No. 17 in Wednesday’s NBA Draft, most recently Baylor freshman Yves Missi as well as Indiana sophomore Ke’lel Ware. Pelicans center Jonas Valančiūnas, who’s approaching unrestricted free agency, has been another big man often mentioned by NBA figures as a potential Lakers frontcourt addition this summer.

The 2024 NBA Draft begins tomorrow at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN and ABC.
