For the 76th year, NBA basketball on Christmas Day is being played.
The NBA’s second Christmas Day offering is a clash between the league’s last two champions: the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets won their first NBA title in franchise history last season, and Nikola Jokić won Finals MVP in the effort. Warriors star Stephen Curry won his first Finals MVP in 2022.
But things have changed since this matchup was announced. The Warriors aren’t the same team they were during the dynasty’s fourth title. Golden State will be missing Draymond Green, one of the league’s better defensive options against Jokić. Of course, the Warriors still have Curry, who can never be counted out.
This game still has the potential to be a close one, as four of the eight matchups over the past three seasons have been decided by a single possession.

The Knicks do a great job of making Dame work for this bucket, Hart does a good job of trailing off the double stagger, then working over the top of the screen, then Quickley with a good switch to get Dame off the three point line. Good effort just didn’t pay off this possession. pic.twitter.com/4i1TIRrQWC
