All 13 Big 12 Baseball Programs Represented On MLB Opening Day

All 13 Big 12 schools are represented on 2024 Major League Baseball Opening Day rosters with a total of 38 players and one manager.
 
The Cincinnati Reds lead with five Big 12 players on their roster. Oklahoma has a league-leading six players on Opening Day rosters, followed by TCU and Texas Tech with five. Kansas’ all-time leading hitter, Rob Thomson, is back as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies after leading the squad to back-to-back NLCS appearances.
 
Former All-Stars Max Muncy (Baylor/Los Angeles Dodgers), Ian Happ (Cincinnati/Chicago Cubs), Matt Carpenter (TCU/St. Louis Cardinals), Josh Jung (Texas Tech/Texas Rangers) and Alek Manoah (West Virginia/Toronto Blue Jays) are all represented on the active roster or injured list.
 
All 30 MLB teams were scheduled for their U.S.-based Opening Day on Thursday, March 28.
