‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe And 0.14 Patch Confirmed To Launch Tomorrow

Developer Battlestate Games has confirmed that the next Escape From Tarkov wipe will take place tomorrow, December 27 at 7am GMT / 2am EST.

The new wipe will begin being installed at this time and is expected to take six hours, which would give it an expected launch time of 8am EST. However, it could take longer and quite often does, so don’t expect be to able to boot up and play exactly at that time. You will not be able to play Tarkov at all while the patch is being deployed.

The wipe will coincide with the release of the 0.14 patch, which is set to include a new map called Ground Zero, a new boss called Kollontay who looks very cool, and an overhaul to the recoil system. The community has eagerly been anticipating the new wipe, with the new recoil system expected to be a major change for all players, however, we will have to wait until tomorrow to see how big of a change it is.

We will likely get full patch notes early tomorrow once the update is being added to the servers, so there could still be some unexpected additions to Tarkov. We know that there will be new weapons and probably an update to Shoreline, as well as the addition of the BTR to Streets of Tarkov, but sometimes we also get some big surprises.

It is also expected that the new map, Ground Zero, will be restricted to low-level players, making it a great place to start your Tarkov journey. Typically a wipe is a great time to start playing Tarkov anyway, as everyone gets reset to nothing, so if you are considering checking it out now is a good time, especially with the holiday sale now on.

After announcing the wipe date to be tomorrow on Twitter the BSG team also confirmed that this wipe will have no impact on Escape From Tarkov Arena, and there will not be a wipe for the new game. Considering it only launched last week it did seem strange that they might wipe progress so soon.

In the run-up to the wipe there have been a lot of new events, including an entirely new quest line which proved divisive as it would give you a status effect that would impact your screen until you completed the quest line. However, with the wipe now confirmed for tomorrow those events will come to a close and the community thinks the controversial quest line will be removed.
