Ice Spice breaks down in TEARS when winning Best New Artist at the 2023 VMAs as she wears a white lace dress that is a tribute to 90s Madonna

Ice Spice took home the coveted Best New Artist at last night’s VMAs.

During her acceptance speech, the Barbie World singer, 23, teared up and she gave her thanks to everyone who has supported her career.

‘Thank you so much! Thank you MTV! Oh, my gosh, this is so cool! the rapper gushed. ‘I just want to thank my munchkins. I love you guys so much!’

She thanked her manager and music producer as well as her fellow Best New Artist nominees GloRilla, Kaliii, Peso Pluma, PinkPantheress and Reneé Rapp.

She added: ‘I want to thank my label for always supporting me. And, of course, God. Without God, none of this would be possible. Thank you guys, I love you guys so much!’

Earlier this week, the Gangsta Boo rapper clapped back at trolls who criticized her style.

A fan wrote on X/Twitter: ‘Ice … it’s urgent we get you a [sic] everyday stylist,’ in response to a video of Ice wearing a cream and striped minidress while dancing at the a Jean Paul Gaultier New York Fashion Week event with Doja Cat and Doechii.

The Butterfly Ku singer clapped back with an image of an employment application and wrote: ‘Apply now.’

The Karma singer – who remixed that song with Ice Spice – now has the second most wins at the VMAs of all artists.

Peter Gabriel won 10 VMAs in 1987. His video for Sledgehammer took home nine of the 10 awards it was up for. It is the most awarded video in the history of the VMAs
