Iowa women’s basketball earns Cy-Hawk win over Iowa State

The No. 3 Iowa women’s basketball team earned a big Cy-Hawk win on Wednesday night on the road in Ames.

The victory was Caitlin Clark’s first at Hilton Coliseum. She also hit another major milestone in the win, racking up 3,000 career points. Re-live all the highlights and the best moments from the game below in our live blog.

The Cyclones have not batted an eye at the No. 3 team in the nation coming into their building.

In her post-half interview Caitlin Clark, who leads all scorers with 15 points, said the key to the second half is to defend the 3-point line.

Audi Crooks has been great for ISU so far. The true freshman from Bishop Garrigan in Algona has 12 points and made her first career 3-pointer in the second quarter.

Cyclones shooting 41% from the field (13-for-32) and 38% from deep (5-for-13). Hawkeyes are hitting 33% of their shots (12-for-37) and 33% from long range (7-for-21).

Clark, who needs just seven points to reach 3,000 career points, went cold in the second quarter. She had three points on 1-of-9 shooting. She’s 4-for-10 from deep and 5-for-17 overall tonight.
