Preity Zinta, the owner of Punjab Kings doesn’t have too many reasons to cheer in IPL 2024, and going against Mumbai Indians without their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan, the chances of the franchise already look bleak. Ahead of the grand PBKS vs MI clash, Preity Zinta’s old remark is breaking the internet where she spoke about Rohit Sharma and said that she is ready to bet her life to get him as a captain if Mumbai Indians release him in IPL mega auctions.
“I will bet my life to get Rohit Sharma if he comes in the mega auction. We are only missing a captain in our team who brings on some stability and champion mindset,” Preity Zinta said while speaking to Star Sports after Punjab Kings lost against Rajasthan Royals.
Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings is suffering from terrible form this season as placed in the 8th position on the IPL 2024 points table.
This is not the first time another franchise has shown interest in Rohit Sharma and wants the former MI skipper to be available during IPL mega auctions later this year. Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants’ head coach Justin Langer also spoke about having Rohit Sharma in his team.
PBKS vs MI 2024 IPL match: Toss update
Shikhar Dhawan will miss the match against Mumbai Indians due to shoulder injury and all-rounder Sam Curran will take command in his absence. The stand-in skipper won the toss against Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and chose to bowl first at the pitch of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium, Mohali.
