Rumer Willis & Derek Richard Thomas’ Controversial Decision About Baby Louetta Has Parents Divided

Parenting should come with a warning. Once you welcome your tiny bundle of joy, you’ll open yourself up to people criticizing your every move. Celebrity parents tend to get even more scrutiny, which can sometimes turn ugly — just ask Paris Hilton! and partner Derek Richard Thomas made one such parenting decision that had many people weighing in with differing opinions.

The Sorority Row actress shared a picture of herself and Thomas all dressed up for a night out. “Mom & Dad’s Night Out (except we brought Lou)” she captioned it, referring to their 6-month-old baby Louetta “Lou.”

In the photo, Willis and Thomas are wearing matching white shirts and black pants. His long brown hair is hanging loosely to his shoulders, while her blonde hair is tied up in a bun. The two were attending the God’s True Cashmere x Nick Fouquet Collaboration Launch at Just One Eye on Wednesday night and looked fabulous! But apparently, people were divided on if they should have brought their baby on their date night.

“Yup! We still bring our kiddo too,” one person wrote. Another parent said, “Haha of course! ❤️ It’s hard to leave that one they’re that little!”

However, others had a different opinion. “Then it’s not a mom and dad night out,” one person pointed out, with someone else writing, “agreed.”

Another person wrote a note of support, “Lovely you’s deserve a night out ❤️.” So true! It can be hard to leave your baby for an evening out (especially if you’re breastfeeding!), and no parent should feel bad if they decide to bring their little one with them. Or if they decide to leave the baby with a sitter, either! Getting a night out as parents is special and rare, and we should all get to decide for ourselves how to go about it.

This isn’t the first time mom shamers have come for the model. Earlier this month, Willis recommended some expensive baby items to The Strategist, and people criticized her choices and herself as a person. The House Bunny star responded to the attack, writing in part, “regardless of whether you like me or not or think I’ve accomplished anything in my life or not … I’m also just a human being who has feelings.”

She added, “Attacking me is… I don’t know, I guess I just want to say I have feelings. I’m a sensitive human being. I would really greatly appreciate it if you weren’t so nasty to me or weren’t so mean to me and allowed me the space to be a person who has worked, has done things, has accomplished, in my opinion, certain things that I’m really proud of in my life.”

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress also shared a photo of her little girl and Thomas, writing, “My life is a gift, I have never been happier and feel more in love than I have ever been. I have the most wonderful daughter beyond my wildest dreams. And my story is only just beginning…” You tell ’em, girl!

These celebrity moms refuse to be shamed for sharing sexy photos.
