Kelly Rowland was given the star treatment for her appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s self-titled talk show on Monday.
It seems the 43-year-old songstress — who is promoting her new Netflix film Mea Culpa — had a different experience on the Sherri show than she did last week when it was reported that she ‘walked off’ the Today show due to unfit dressing room accommodations.
When the official Sherri Instagram account shared outtakes from the episode — which aired on Monday — online, one fan commented in reference to the drama that took place on Thursday.
‘I guess her dressing room acceptable,’ a social media user with the handle @askmarkward wrote. Sherri, 56, quickly responded from her personal Instagram account, writing: ‘Oh we gave her a gorgeous room! [heart emoji] It is Kelendria Rowland [fire emoji].’
It’s unclear if the Sherri show taping was recorded before or after the Today show incident.
On Friday it was claimed that Kelly walked out on the Today show guest hosting job, after she and her team expressed dissatisfaction with the dressing rooms provided.
The move left host Hoda Kotb scrambling, according to sources who spoke to Page Six.
The insiders told the publication that Rowland, along with her crew, played a game of ‘musical dressing rooms.’
Her entourage was said to have inquired about the green room upstairs because ‘they didn’t like the one she was in’ — but Jennifer Lopez was occupying the room at the time as she arrived there earlier to promote her new album and film This Is Me… Now.
Rita Ora was called to fill in for Kelly. The former Destiny’s Child singer did, however, appear for an interview segment during the 8am hour of the Today show.
DailyMail.com reached out to representatives for Rowland and has yet to hear back.
For the spot on the Sherri show, Kelly wore a long, gold and black dress with a tiger print throughout, later promising that the host could have it.
‘Do they have this in a size 14 and up? ‘Cause I want this dress!’ Shepherd, 56, said as she complimented Rowland on her look. Rowland then replied, ‘I’m sure they do [but] I will leave it with you.’
‘Leave it with me! I need two of them to sew them together,’ Sherri joked.
During her sit-down, Rowland also took a moment to applaud Shepherd for being ‘light, positive energy.’
‘Thank you for being light, positive energy in this space, in this time. We needed you and I thank you so much for your light.’
Shepherd, whose talk show took the primetime slot Wendy Williams’ show previously occupied, blushed as she thanked Kelly for complimenting her.
‘Thank you so much for that. That is so amazing,’ she said before getting into Kelly’s sexy look.
The mother-of-two looked stunning as she donned the sleeveless number and wore her bob haircut in a center part with the front pieces slicked behind her ears.
