Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce has claimed that the dating rumors surrounding Taylor Swift and his Kansas City Chiefs tight end brother, Travis, are true.
The Anti-Hero hitmaker and the two-time Super Bowl winner were rumored to have been dating after it was reported earlier this month that they had been ‘quietly hanging out.’
Neither Kelce nor Swift have confirmed the rumors, but Jason, the Eagles center, admitted on the WIP Morning Show that he believes it’s ‘100 percent true.’
‘I think things are going great and I think it’s 100 percent true,’ the 35-year-old said.
However, Jason also admitted that he tries not to get too involved in his younger brother’s love life.
‘I don’t really know a lot about what’s happening in Travis’s love life and I try to keep … you know his business, is his business and I try to stay out of that world,’ he added.
Travis, who previously dated influencer and broadcaster Kayla Nicole, was first linked to Swift earlier this month.
They were reported to have been hanging out when the Midnights hit-maker visited New York a few weeks ago, the Messenger reported last week.
Kelce, who made his season debut Sunday, scoring a touchdown in the Chiefs’ 17-9 win over the Jaguars, first tried to link up with Swift when her Eras tour came to Kansas City in the summer.
He revealed on his New Heights podcast with brother and Eagles center Jason that he attempted to give the songstress a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
‘So, I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,’ Kelce said.
‘She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me. So, I took it personal.’
Jason jokingly guessed that Taylor, who hails from Pennsylvania, refused to meet with Travis because of her known fondness for the Eagles.
‘Well, she probably just hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet. She’s a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and just didn’t wanna talk to you,’ he said.
Swift, who won nine awards at the VMAs, split from actor Joe Alwyn in April after six years together.
The pop sensation has dated a dazzling array of celebrities, including Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Joe Jonas, Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Lautner and Calvin Harris.
Most recently, following her split from Alwyn, Swift briefly dated 1975 frontman Matty Healy before the fling fizzled out in June.
Jason was previously pressed on his brother’s dating life last week after the Eagles’ 34-28 win over the Vikings.
On Thursday Night Football, Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez just couldn’t resist asking the Eagles’ Kelce about his brother.
‘I’ve seen these rumors. I can’t comment on them,’ the center said on Amazon’s postgame show.
‘Ever since ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody’s been infatuated with Travis’ love life,’ he added, referring to the reality dating show that his brother previously participated in.
‘So I don’t really know what’s going on there. I know Trav is having fun and we’ll see what happens with whoever he ends up with.’
Jason’s comments come a day after Travis appeared on Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest podcast to discuss dating and relationships.
The Chiefs star revealed what would and wouldn’t make sparks fly in a relationship for him.
The two-time Super Bowl winner said ‘high maintenance’ would have him running for a getaway car.
‘High maintenance, I’m out the door,’ he said. ‘If you’re arrogant, snooty or just higher or above people, that’s the biggest turn-off for me.’
Travis added that he would be enchanted by ‘some sort of sweetness’ in a partner, explaining that his mom, Donna, is ‘kind-hearted.’
The eight-time pro bowler explained that he’s guarded fortress when entering into a relationship.
He said that he would look to take things slow, explaining: ‘To really dive into a relationship with somebody I feel like it’s going to take at least, I don’t know, it’s going to take some time.
‘It’s not going to be immediate because, the stuff I’ve been through, just in my past, I feel like you really gotta know somebody to take that step and really be committed and be in full-throttle. I can’t just meet somebody and just automatically think that forever is just a day away … I think it takes quite a bit of time for somebody to really get to know somebody and really get to find that affection and love for them.’
Several sporting personalities have weighed in on Travis and Swift’s rumored romance, including ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, who tipped his hat to the Chiefs star after rumors emerged suggesting the tight end is dating the pop sensation.
‘Champions like champions. My brother, more power to you,’ the sports analyst said.
And now Smith has said both Kelce and Swift ‘could do a lot worse’ than each other.
‘So I’ve heard the Travis Kelce — my brother from another mother, I love that brother he’s one of the coolest people I know — I know he’s possibly dating Taylor Swift,’ Smith said on Monday’s episode of the ‘Stephen A Smith Show‘.
‘Taylor Swift, you could do a lot worse. But so could he because I haven’t gotten over that Taylor Swift concert. I mean, she was off the chain.
‘Getting that out of the way, Travis Kelce with Taylor Swift… that’s not bad. That’s not bad now.’
Smith suggested the pair’s individual success could naturally attract them to one another.
‘I sincerely doubt that Travis Kelce will find anyone more successful than her. I mean she made over $5billion in this concert tour. Travis Kelce is a Super Bowl champion — champions like champions. My brother, more power to you.’
Rob Gronkowski – a four-time Super Bowl champion – also suggested the power couple would be the ‘No 1 Ken and Barbie in the NFL’.
However, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was less than impressed with the rumors, claiming the Grammy winner could do better than the NFL star, saying Travis ‘wouldn’t be my first choice’ to date if he were the pop superstar.
