Yes, Post Malone has a small role in Road House—the 2024 remake of the ’80s movie, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime—because movie cameos seem to be the rapper’s favorite thing these days.

Maybe someday Post Malone’s agent will land him a lead role, but for now, he’ll have to settle for appearing in the first five minutes of the new Jake Gyllenhaal action flick.

Directed by Doug Liman, with a script by Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, Road House stars Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter hired as a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys. The bar—aka The Road House—has been dealing with some rowdy clientele, but it’s nothing that Gyllenhaal can’t handle. How do we know? Because the movie establishes that t Gyllenhaal’s character is a force to be reckoned with in an opening fight scene with Post Malone.

The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Austin Post, is adding Road House to his growing list of cameos, which includes Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spenser Confidential, and the latest visual album from Jennifer Lopez, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story.

Who does Post Malone play in Road House (2024)?

Post Malone, aka Austin Post, plays a character named Carter in Road House. He appears only very briefly in the opening scene of the movie, when Gyllenhaal’s character, Dalton, shows up at an underground fight ring to earn some extra cash. We watch as Carter (aka Post Malone, instantly recognizable by his many, many, tattoos) easily defeats his first opponent in the ring. It’s clear that Carter is a big shot around here. He gloats over his win, and dares anyone who is brave enough to challenge him to step forward.

Enter Gyllenhaal, hiding his face under a dark hoodie. Carter is more than happy to take on his new opponent… until Gyllenhaal pulls off his sweatshirt and reveals his face (along with his very impressive body). Suddenly, Carter looks worried. Somebody asks Carter if he knows who that guy is. Carter does know how that guy is—and he doesn’t want to fight him.

“You fucking fight him!” Post Malone yells as he storms out of the ring. “No fucking way!”

Gyllenhaal simply smiles, re-laces his boots, and accepts his cash for winning the match by default. Clearly, this guy has a dangerous reputation, and he’s not afraid to use that to his advantage.

And that’s it’s for Post Malone in Road House. We never see him again. But it’s another notch in the rapper’s ever-growing list of IMDB credits. At least this time he wasn’t a wise-cracking, magical zodiac entity!
