Tae Hardy’s 3-pointer beats Cal
The UTEP men’s basketball team will take aim at its first trophy of the season when it plays Bradley in the championship of the SoCal Challenge in San Luis Capistrano.
The Miners come in off a thrilling buzzer-beating victory against Cal secured when Tae Hardy, who had just missed two free throws, had a 3 go in, out, off the backboard and back in again after the horn sounded.

Bradley also comes in perfect after holding off Tulane in Monday’s other semifinal, which moved the Braves to 4-0. That includes a win over former CUSA heavyweight UAB.
These programs last played two years ago when Bradley topped UTEP in the Haskins Center to win the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational.
“I know they’re really good,” UTEP coach Joe Golding said of Bradley. “We had a good battle with them two years ago. We’re playing for a championship.”
