Brittany Mahomes has joined the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit squad. The former soccer player and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was announced on Thursday as the magazine’s 2024 rookie. She will be featured in SI Swimsuit’s 60th-anniversary issue, which is scheduled to be released in May.
In the announcement video, Mahomes is seen wearing a red one-piece swimsuit by Mugler and a bikini by Natalia Fedner.
“Brittany emerges as the epitome of a modern-day powerhouse. Founder of the world’s first-ever dedicated stadium for women’s sports, Brittany’s journey has surpassed all expectations, inspiring others with her tenacity and unyielding determination. We are proud to welcome her to the SI Swimsuit family where she will undoubtedly continue to empower women worldwide,” Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day said in a statement.
SI Swimsuit’s announcement comes just a few days before the Super Bowl LVIII, which will take place on Sunday in Las Vegas, where the Chiefs will play against the San Francisco 49ers.
Mahomes is the owner of the Kansas City Current NWSL team and the founder of the CPKC Stadium, which is set to open later this year in Kansas City, Mo., as the first soccer stadium built exclusively for a women’s professional sports team.
Since retiring from soccer in 2017, Mahomes has also been working as a certified fitness trainer and raising her two kids, Sterling and Bronze, whom she shares with Patrick. In 2022, the family was featured in Skims’ Holiday campaign.
While supporting her husband’s career, Mahomes has also had her share of red carpet moments over the years. At Netflix’s “Quarterback” documentary premiere last year, she was seen in a silver metallic off-the-shoulder cup dress from Alex Perry. In the same month, she wore a Versace bra-cup dress for the 2023 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
